Terms and conditions
Last updated: · 14 min readThese terms govern the use of the Zoora game, on the site and in the iPhone and Android apps, and the purchase of its paid offers. Articles 1 to 11 and 17 to 22 constitute the terms of use; Articles 12 to 16 constitute the terms of sale.
This is an English translation, provided for convenience. Only the French version is legally binding; in the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
- Zoora is for people aged 16 and over; the full game is free.
- The odds are published, the same for everyone, and don’t change during a season. Paying gives you more Boosters, never better chances.
- Cards and Shards have no monetary value: they can’t be bought, and can’t be resold outside the game.
- Fourteen days to withdraw: unopened Boosters are refunded to you (in the apps, by Apple or Google).
- Zoora+ can be cancelled at any time, at no cost: from your profile on the site, in the store’s subscriptions in the apps.
01Purpose and acceptance
Zoora is an online collectible card game: each card shows a real animal species. It is published by ELVN SAS, whose details are given in the legal notice, and is played in a web browser, at my.zoora.app, or in the Zoora apps for iPhone and Android. One account works everywhere: your cards, your Shards and your purchases follow you from one device to another.
Creating an account constitutes acceptance of these terms, in the version published at this address on the day of use. A purchase additionally requires you to accept them at the time of payment.
02Age and account
Zoora is for people aged 16 and over. Your year of birth is asked for when you create an account; in the year you turn 16, you also confirm that you have already had your birthday. If you are younger, the account is deleted immediately. An account opened nonetheless by a younger person is closed as soon as we become aware of it.
You create your account with a Google account, with Apple (“Sign in with Apple”, in the iPhone app), or with an e‑mail address and a password: the address is then confirmed through a link before you can play. An address can be used for only one account, variants included (such as name+game@…). You choose a username, which other players see; your name and e‑mail address are never shown to them. One account per person: it is personal and may not be lent, sold or transferred.
You are responsible for access to your Google or Apple account, or for your password, which you keep to yourself, and for whatever is done from your Zoora account; let us know at contact@zoora.app if you suspect access that isn’t yours.
03The trial Booster
A first Booster can be opened without an account, on the site as in the apps. Its cards stay for 7 days on the device that opened it; creating your account within that time puts them in the new account’s Binder. Only one trial Booster per device, and at most a few per network per day, to limit abuse.
04The iPhone and Android apps
The Zoora apps can be downloaded for free from the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). They are governed by these terms and, for what belongs to the store (the download, your Apple or Google account, the payment and refund of a purchase made in the app), by Apple’s or Google’s terms. The app downloaded from the App Store is also governed by Apple’s standard licence (Licensed Application End User License Agreement).
Apple and Google are not parties to these terms: ELVN alone is responsible for the app, its content, its support and its maintenance. A version of the app that is too old may stop being served; it then asks you to update it from the store.
Notifications. If you allow them, the app sends you notifications about your game, for example a trade offered or a card sold on the Market. They never contain advertising. You can turn them off at any time in your phone’s settings.
05The game: Boosters, odds and draws
A Booster contains five cards, drawn at random from the species of its biome; the fifth is at least Rare. About one Booster in ten arrives as a PRISM Booster, with at least one Epic card. Legendary and Mythic cards are numbered, in print runs of 200 and 10 copies per species.
The odds are published on the Published odds page, which is authoritative. They are the same for everyone, whether you pay or not, and do not change during a season. Paying only ever gives you more Boosters, never better chances.
Draws are made by our servers, and they are verifiable: the fingerprint of each draw is published before opening, and the opening page lets you replay it.
Without paying, your Reserve holds up to 3 Boosters, and one Booster comes back every hour. The full game, including the Binder, Missions and sharing, is free.
06Your cards
A card is an element of the game. Having it in your Binder gives you the right to use it in Zoora (look at it, show it, share it, trade it or sell it on the Market according to the rules of the game), for personal, non-commercial use. This right is not a property right in the card or its illustration, which remain ELVN’s.
A card has no monetary value. It can never be exchanged for euros, either in the game or outside it.
07Shards
Shards are the game’s unit. They are earned by playing, for example through the daily Missions, and are used in the game, for example on the Market.
Shards cannot be bought and can never be converted into money: they have no monetary value, are not refundable and remain tied to the account that earned them. The number of Shards the game creates each week is capped, and their rates may change to keep the game balanced.
08Market and Trades
When they are open, the Market lets you sell a card to another player for Shards, at a price set by the seller, and Trades between friends let you exchange cards for cards. A 10% commission in Shards is deducted from each Market sale and destroyed. The game’s Merchant buys and resells cards at a published rate.
A Legendary or Mythic card pulled from a paid Booster can be sold on the Market or traded only 3 days after the purchase; other cards, straight away. A completed sale or trade is final, except in the event of fraud or a service error.
09Inviting friends
Every player has an invitation link (my.zoora.app/join/…). A new account created with that link, or with a friend’s code entered before taking the welcome Pack, gets 1 PRISM Booster on arrival and becomes friends with the person who invited them. Only a first account can be invited: an address already used on Zoora cannot.
Once the invitee has played on 3 different days, each takes PRISM Boosters from the biome of their choice: 1 for the invitee, 2 for the person who invited them, at most 5 times a month for them; the next ones wait for the following month. These rewards stay in the game: they have no value in euros, are never tied to a purchase, and their rules may change. Creating accounts to invite yourself, or any other abuse, removes the rewards concerned (see “Moderation and sanctions”).
10Prohibited uses
The following are prohibited, in particular:
- selling, buying or offering a card, Shards, an account or a game service for money, or for any goods outside the game, on Zoora or elsewhere;
- opening several accounts, or trial Boosters in series, to accumulate advantages;
- using a bot, a script or a tool that plays for you or automates requests;
- exploiting a bug in the game instead of reporting it to us;
- choosing a username that is abusive, hateful, misleading or impersonates someone;
- circumventing security measures or accessing another player’s account.
11Moderation and sanctions
The Zoora team reviews reports received at contact@zoora.app and anomalies detected by its tools (purchases in series, suspicious sales, bots). Depending on the seriousness, it may rename a username, hide a showcase or a public page, remove a listing, suspend access to the Market, or ban an account. Cards and Shards obtained through a prohibited use may be removed.
Each measure is notified to you with its reason, in the game’s mail and by e‑mail; a ban, by e‑mail only. You can contest it by writing to contact@zoora.app: a member of the team reviews the decision and replies to you. The remedies provided by law remain open to you.
12Paid offers and prices
Purchases are reserved for players who reside in France. On the site, prices are in euros, all taxes included (French VAT at 20% included).
| Offer | Contents | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Your first Pack | 3 Boosters and 2 PRISM Boosters, once per account, on the first purchase | €0.99 |
| Pack | 3 Boosters and 2 PRISM Boosters | €2.49 |
| Bundle of 6 Packs | 18 Boosters and 12 PRISM Boosters | €9.99 |
| Zoora+ monthly | Reserve of 5 Boosters, 1 Booster every 20 minutes (40 per day, then 1 per hour until 4 am), 1 Pack per week | €3.99 per month |
| Zoora+ yearly | The same benefits, for one year | €34.99 per year |
Paid Boosters contain cards drawn at random, at the published odds; their contents are only known when they are opened. A Booster is never sold individually.
In the apps, the same offers are paid through the App Store or Google Play: the price is the one the store shows before the purchase, in your currency and including taxes. It follows the store’s price tiers and may differ from the one in the table.
Prices may be revised. A revision of Zoora+ is announced at least thirty days before it applies, only takes effect from the following period, and allows you to cancel beforehand at no cost. For a subscription taken in an app, the store also applies its own rules on notice and consent.
13Order and payment
Purchases are made in the game, from the shop or your profile, on the site or in the apps. The summary shows the offer and its price before payment; the payment button states that the order involves an obligation to pay.
On the site, payment is made by bank card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. It is processed by Stripe: your card details do not pass through ELVN and are not stored by it. You can save your card with Stripe for your next purchases, and remove it at any time from the payment form. The contract is formed when the payment is confirmed; the Boosters arrive in your account immediately. A confirmation, setting out the order and what you accepted, and an invoice are sent to you by e‑mail.
In the apps, payment goes through your Apple account (App Store) or Google account (Google Play), under their terms, with the means of payment you saved there: ELVN receives no payment details. The contract is formed when the store confirms the payment; the Boosters arrive in your account immediately, and the store sends you its receipt. An interrupted purchase (lost network, app closed) is attached to your account the next time the app opens, or with “Restore purchases”, in its settings.
A purchase made on the site or in an app counts wherever you sign in with the same account. If a payment is disputed with your bank, or refunded by ELVN, Apple or Google, the unopened Boosters it paid for are removed, and the cards that came from it may be removed too; a refunded Zoora+ stops.
14Zoora+: term, renewal and cancellation
Zoora+ is taken out for one month or for one year and renews automatically for a period of the same length, unless cancelled before the end of the current period. There is no commitment beyond the current period. For the yearly offer, you are informed by e‑mail, no earlier than three months and no later than one month before its end, of your right not to renew it (Article L. 215-1 of the French Consumer Code).
Taken on the site, Zoora+ can be cancelled at any time, at no cost and without giving a reason, from your profile, with “Cancel Zoora+” (Article L. 215-1-1 of the French Consumer Code). The cancellation is confirmed on screen and then by e‑mail, with its effective date: Zoora+ remains active until the end of the paid period, and “Resume” reverses the cancellation until then. At the end of the period, your Reserve returns to the free offer; your cards and your Boosters remain yours.
Taken in an app, Zoora+ is an App Store or Google Play subscription. It renews automatically and is paid through the store, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. It can be cancelled at any time, at no cost, in the store’s subscription management: on iPhone, in Settings, your name, then Subscriptions (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions); on Android, in Google Play, your profile, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). The app’s settings lead there. Zoora+ remains active until the end of the paid period.
15Right of withdrawal
Period. You have fourteen days from the purchase to withdraw, without giving any reason (Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code).
Packs and opened Boosters. Boosters are digital content. Before paying, you tick a box, separate from the acceptance of the terms: “I want my Boosters right away, and I acknowledge that I lose my right of withdrawal for the ones I open.” Without it, the payment does not go through. An opened Booster therefore can no longer be returned (Article L. 221-28, 13°); unopened Boosters, however, remain refundable throughout the fourteen days.
What you get back, for a Pack or a bundle: the price paid × unopened Boosters ÷ Boosters purchased, rounded down to the cent. The unopened Boosters are then removed.
Zoora+. You ask for the subscription to start straight away. If you withdraw, you pay for the part already supplied (Article L. 221-25): the price pro rata to the days elapsed in the period. Boosters from the weekly Packs that you have opened remain yours, those you haven’t opened are removed, and the subscription ends immediately.
How, for a purchase made on the site. In the game, with “Withdraw”, under the purchase line in your profile, throughout the period: the amount refunded is shown before you confirm. Or by any unambiguous statement sent to contact@zoora.app or by post to ELVN SAS, 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France, for example using the form in the annex. An acknowledgement of receipt is sent to you by e‑mail.
Refund. No later than fourteen days after receipt of your decision, to the means of payment used (Article L. 221-24). Outside withdrawal, sums paid are not refunded, unless we have made an error.
Purchases made in an app. Before paying, the app asks you to tick the same box: for a Pack, “I want my Boosters right away, and I acknowledge that I lose my right of withdrawal for the ones I open.”; for Zoora+, “I want Zoora+ to start right away. If I withdraw within 14 days, I pay for the days already used.” As the payment is collected by Apple or Google, withdrawal and refunds are requested from the store, under its terms: for the App Store, at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, in your Google account’s order history. You can also write to us at contact@zoora.app: we guide you and, for a Google Play purchase, we can refund it ourselves. When a purchase is refunded, the unopened Boosters it paid for are removed from your account.
16Legal guarantee of conformity
ELVN is liable for any lack of conformity of the digital content and services supplied, under the conditions of Articles L. 224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. A Booster that doesn’t open, or a purchase that doesn’t arrive in your account, can be reported to contact@zoora.app: it will be restored or refunded.
17Availability and changes
Zoora is provided with care, without any service-level commitment: interruptions for maintenance, or caused by a hosting provider, remain possible. The game evolves: new seasons, species and features arrive, others may change. The odds of a season in progress, however, do not change.
Should Zoora close, the closure would be announced at least thirty days in advance; unopened paid Boosters and the unexpired part of Zoora+ would be refunded.
18Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app (Menu, Settings, “Delete my account”), on the site (“Account settings”, danger zone, or the my.zoora.app/delete-account page), typing your username to confirm, or by asking at contact@zoora.app from your account’s address. An e‑mail confirms the deletion.
Deletion erases your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations, in particular for invoices. Your cards remain in the game without an owner (numbered cards keep their place in their print run), and your username disappears from their history. Deleting an account immediately cancels a Zoora+ taken on the site. A Zoora+ taken in an app is cancelled with the store (see “Zoora+: term, renewal and cancellation”): do it first, otherwise the store keeps charging for it. A “Sign in with Apple” connection is revoked with the account. Only a fingerprint of your e‑mail address is kept for 3 years (see the privacy policy): coming back with the same address is possible, without the welcome gifts.
19Liability
ELVN cannot be held liable for indirect damage, nor for the loss of cards or Shards resulting from a prohibited use or from access to your account that you allowed.
Nothing in these terms limits ELVN’s liability in the event of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor the rights that the law grants to consumers.
20Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
21Changes to the terms
These terms may be amended, in particular to keep pace with changes to the game or to the regulations. Each version is published at this address with its date of update, and a significant change is announced in the game before it applies. Continuing to play after that date constitutes acceptance; a subscriber who refuses it can cancel at no cost.
22Applicable law, language and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first, by writing to contact@zoora.app.
These terms are written in French. This English version is a translation provided for convenience only: the French version is the only legally binding one and prevails in the event of any discrepancy or difference of interpretation.
Failing agreement, the dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, subject to the protective provisions applicable to consumers.
—Annex: model withdrawal form
Form provided for in the annex to Article R. 221-1 of the French Consumer Code. Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
